Known as the “Miracle Tree”, Neem plant originating from the Siwalik Hills of Burma is a fast-growing plant with broad leaves which is native to the Indian subcontinent. Neem also known as Margosa is a member of mahogany family Meliacea and its botanical name is Azadirachta Indica. Neem is found in almost every part of India and is a plant which has a divine status and has amazing medicinal properties.  In the present days, Neem Tree is found in the tropical and subtropical zones of Asia, America, Australia, Africa and the South Pacific Islands.

Neem leaves mixed with water helps control blood sugar as the leaves helps in dilating blood vessels impeding blood coagulation and decreasing elevated heart rates and thus relaxes erratic heartbeats due to the presence of antihistamine compounds in them. It is popular with gardeners because it is a natural insect repellant and a safe, effective insecticide.They also act as a natural pesticide. Dried leaves protect rice kept in containers and clothes kept in drawers from insects.

Upon extracting neem oil from the seeds, we are left with a pulp that is known as ‘neem cake’. The neem cake, which is the residue after separation of neem oil from the seeds is normally utilized as a dirt revision and compost and is used as animal fodder as well.
